Why is it always a matter of racism/slavery? Don't prisoners wear shackles too? And they wear them to this day.

I freely admit I'm pretty ignorant about the treatment of slaves 150 years ago but I question these people claiming that shackles bring up visions of slavery. You're right, it's more of a convict thing... a very dangerous convict. "They" also seem to claim hanging is a racist thing as well even though it was the preferred means of legal execution for quite a while... for every race.

Getting pretty tired of people screaming how offended they are about shit like this.

People have completely forgotten that slavery dates back to before Jesus. Many civilizations enslaved their own people. It's not a black and white issue and it never was. It's also not solely an American issue. It only appears to be because you have people like Jackson and Sharpton race baiting everything they can put that twist on. They enjoy keeping the hate going and they will continue as long as there are the ignorant that fall prey to it.

Oh trust me, it ain't just an american thing. I think each country keeps it inside though. I mean, when last did you care about the atrocities in Zimbabwe? I only kinda care cause I live near there.
