there has actually been an increase in the occurance of rabies round here lately. When she was bitten, we were lucky to get the meds pretty soon. Local chemist happened to have some in stock because a guy had been in the week before and ordered some. He'd been bitten by a jackal. Otherwise it would've taken a few days apparently...which kinda makes it useless.

A few days? Jesus. 6 days after symptoms start and you're dead, so yeah, it's pretty useless.

A lot of breakthroughs in treatment though. Just looked at Wikipedia and found a couple links:

more in tune with the origins of this thread. I'm buying what you would call a truck. I imagine it was sold as a chev in ammie land. Round here it's an Isuzu. I shall use it for more intrepid journeys into more bushes to take more photos.

That is all.

OK what is a "chev" and what is "ammie land"? Chevrolet and America?

Chevy doesn't make anything like the Isuzu, but I think I know what truck you're talking about. Square boxy thing like an SUV or a pickup kind of thing? We have a thread about Posting pics of your vehicle, which reminds me - I need to add a vehicle!

no, it is not a ford twist...

Yeah, I saw the thread on pics of your vehicle. I'll post some there once I take delivery. Do you guys not call them Chevs? Huh...you learn something new every day. Yes, Chevrolet. They apparently have quite a close relationship with Isuzu. Same thing sold around the world under different names. The next generation is going to be sold as the Chevrolet Colorado. I don't know (but I assume) the previous ones were too.

57 days till my next trip, and this one will have a lot more space.

Close, we call them Chevy's.

They already have the Colorado out here in the States.

It's a cute little truck, best of luck with it!

yeah, that's what I'm saying. Chevrolet Colorado = Isuzu D-MAX = Holden something or other.

Love watching you all on this one :p

The nearest lions/monkeys/warthogs are in Hampshire or Wiltshire. Marwell Zoo (not what you think) and Longleat (an enclosure at a stately home)

The most dangerous thing we have is Adders out on the Jurassic Coast and free to roam New Forest Ponies and Dexter cattle in the Forest.
The Adders can make you feel really poorly, if not treated quickly and the ponies and cattle die if you hit them in your car.

Sigh*

Would you like to see a photo of my mum's savage Tom cat? Rolleyes
