Going on a sponsored whitewater rafting trip tomorrow, courtesy of these guys:

http://www.bearpawexpeditions.com/index.html

Free for all combat vets. If I never post here again, it will be because I died like a fucking man. Hope to have plenty of good photos in either case.

Wish me the best of luck.

I'm not voting on that! It'll bring bad ju-ju. [Image: ungabunga.gif]

That looks like fun. Although I never have or had a desire to whitewater raft, it always looks like fun to me. I almost drowned several times as a kid, once at the hands of my friend, and I've a fear of putting my face under water where I can't control the entire situation. Weird because I love to swim and if had my choice, I'd swim all day long no matter if it's a pool, lake, river or ocean.

Isn't that the point of the "Break A Leg" thinking?

I'm wondering what the rainfall has been like in your area lately.
Chances are it will be a smooth run.
Either way, if you don't make it can I have your Glock?

Everything went great. It was windy and drizzled a bit, but the afternoon weather became wonderful. Photos to follow in the coming days. We had a few guys getting footage from the boats and a photographer who took great ones from shore.

Wasn't Deliverance set in W.Va? Isn't W.Va a northern state or do they actually consider themselves southern? Does the Mason-Dixon line run above it?

Or was it set in Ga?

Hell, I don't remember where the movie was set, but West Virginia is actually a product of the Civil war, I think they broke off of Virginia because they didn't agree with them or something. So I have to say that they are South of the Mason Dixon line, however...they were were not a confederate state.
I think.

Likely because they didn't support slavery?

I can imagine that W. VA was also economically independent of Virginia proper, with a different set of resources and industry (coal, etc).
