Thanks Biker. I didn't know what model was the last off the line or what year they stopped production. It's a shame too, they had quite a few really cool muscle cars back in the day.

Them and Oldsmobile. But they had both lost a lot of focus. I mean the GTO that they tried to resurrect was just a Holden that they re-badged. It's no wonder sales plummeted.

Yeah, I know about Olds too. Ford and Chevy have it right when it comes to keeping the muscle in the muscle cars they have out. Ford made that ugly assed thing in the 80's but got that old school look back and damn if that Mustang ain't real nice looking now. You know that 80's version is Carrol Shelby's favorite version? I find that weird for some reason.

Chevy got it back with the old school look of that Camaro, but the couple years production when they brought it back was ugly. I still see some around.

Pontiac tried the same thing with the Firebird but it just didn't take off.

I have that DVD. Best chase scene around. And they way that driver worked the double clutch? Awesome. But that sound isn't from the actual chase unfortunately. It was dubbed from a GT40. You wouldn't have needed to double clutch that top loader, it was an awesome transmission. Also Steve wanted to actually drive it, but the one missed corner meant the stunt drivers would do it. I'm not sure if that missed corner is the one that made it into the movie or not.

I would have bought the Bullitt Mustang when they were selling it, because it was so understated. Just like the one in the original movie. If you notice, it doesn't have any insignia. The Hemi in that charger had plenty of go, but the care wallowed like a sow compared to that 390 powered Stang.

-1 because your clip didn't cover the whole chase!

El Caminos are Chevy, not Pontiac.

Basically they were a Chevelle/Malibu based pickup truck.

The Ford version was the Futura, a similar vehicle based on the Falcon.

Called the Ranchero. The first ones were based on the Fairlane, and last ones on the Torino and LTD.
