I had no idea they had those. Info please! should the guy that got them for me offered? Is this an aftermarket thing I can get on my own?

You're kidding right? How many tires have you bought over the years, and never heard of the hazard warranty? Unless they are outlawed in NJ. I've been buying the warany for 37 years on my tires, saved myself a bunch of money with trashed tires.

Never have been offered one. If there is a link I can get one on my own please hook me up. I'll be calling the shop today too.

So get this. I'm searching online for these road hazard warranties and coming up with nothing. I'm really shitty at internet searches too. I can do almost anything regarding this fucking nerd shit thanks to the stalker Mannix, but for the life of me I can't search and get good results. I gave up and called Michelin directly.

Anyway, Michelin has a lifelong consumer. I am getting a FULL reimbursement of the tire minus mounting. It's considered their 1, 1, 1 rule and was advised to get hazard insurance, which will be getting done ASAP. I want to talk with my dealer first to see if I already have that and if I don't do they offer and can it be added on. IF I already have it, I'm going to bet it is for the original tires that came with the car and not these new ones. We shall see.

HA! that $1035 warranty for the wheels and tires covers road hazards! Just talked to the warranty company. today is a win-win for me. Tires are covered and I'm not going to bother putting in a claim because Michelin did right by me.

I just talked to the warranty company.

This makes me want to buy Michelins now. Just because the company treated a customer right, even though you don't have to take them up on it they were still gonna do right by you.

For me, my tire dealer is the one who offers the road hazard warranty. It's optional but well worth the price. They offer it on every tire they sell regardless of the manufacturer and it's in addition to any warranty the maker puts on them.

In the future when you are looking to buy tires, ask the dealer if they offer road hazard coverage.

THIS is the culprit. JUST missed the rim and destroying that.
Click for a bigger picture. You can see the bits of steel belting poking through too. I can't believe it held air for 3 days till they took it off.

LK I'm fully covered for road hazards but have never been offered that when I bought tires, ever. Kinda pissed about that but there are caveats - the road has to be a state maintained road. I'm assuming it's county etc as well, but not the road in your or up along a private drive. How would they know though, right?
