Ft. Lauderdale shooter - Twitchin Kitten - 01-09-2017 I hope Trump truly revamps the VA system and get vets like this guy the help they need. The FBI is practically throwing him under the bus here because IMO, they are the first to fail him. And fail him so magnificently. Cries for gun control again because the FBI let him go when he walked into one of their field offices in Anchorage and outright asked for help. They're using some kind of excuse about the letter of the law and how they can't detain or "commit" without justification. Seriously? Pretty sure they could have asked him to sit down and talk with someone while another got on the phone to the VA and said they need someone to come get this guy. I'm pretty sure him walking into their office and saying he's being forced to fight for ISIS is justification. Everybody loses here. RE: Ft. Lauderdale shooter - Biker Dude - 01-09-2017 Changing the VA culture is a HUGE task. No matter what anybody does, and there have been attempts, nothing changes. Locally our VA hospital is STILL not going to be done until 2018. Was going to cost 600,000 originally, it is up to 1.7 BILLION. Multiple instances of VA officials that knew about cost over runs NOT mentioning it when testifying in congress, ignoring their own consultants etc. My sister works in the old one, she sees the VA culture everyday. RE: Ft. Lauderdale shooter - Twitchin Kitten - 01-09-2017 We're lucky here. Matt uses the VA for his medical and they're very good here. I don't know if that guy was even in the VA system, but the FBI should have done way more than giving him back his firearm and letting him go. |
