Bug-a-salt - how long before it's illegal? - Twitchin Kitten - 12-16-2014

Has anyone seen the Bug-a-salt?

How long before little (or big) brothers are using this and puts out an eye of one of his siblings and the gun control freaks start yammering how it's a weapon and you need a permit to purchase? Giggle

Looks fun but damn, the mess you'd have to clean up from using it!

I'm still miffed at the dumb asses calling for airsoft to be painted like nerf guns. <.<

I think they're considered a weapon here and you have to go through the same process as a gun here.

When did they start demanding they be painted in 'kiddie colors'? You can always repaint Wink

They started it after a 12 year old kid pointed one at a cop and the cop killed him. The cop is a dumbass for this, so is the kid, who ever gave it to the kid in the first place is really to blame because from the pics i saw it had the orange tip removed. This has happened a few times. Course this one being a black kid has the media in a uproar because of other recent events.

The tip is there so the cops don't blow you away. If your going to remove it only do so at a airsoft field, hell they even make clip on orange tip so people that remove it and install a more realistic flash hider can make them legal to have out in public again.

Also don't know how true this is, but when they first came over the pond, BB gun manufacturers started bitching to have the gun's sale banned outright because of how closely they resembled real guns, but ended up settling on the orange tip as a compromise. Of course this is complete bullshit and they just did it because they didn't want to share the market.

Of course these are much safer than a .20 gram plastic pellet and don't look at all like a real handgun.

If this is true it could have to do with the myth about being able to convert them into real guns buy remilling them and adding a few real gun parts.

The ATF actually seized a shipment claiming this, but several court cases later they got turned into a laughing stock. They even went to far as to try to convert one but ended up with a not working gun that cost twice as much as a real one.

Or you know. It could just be you live in new jersey.

don't be fucking with my hobbies lol

Anthony would know more on why / if they are treated like regular guns here. I would bet my last dollar it's because they shoot a projectile and has nothing to do with the ability to convert them.

No law saying you can't carry one of these though and everyone should. It even comes with a clip to attach it to your belt.
