1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - TenFour - 08-10-2013 It's going to be a long time before I can fully restore this car but I'm trying to work on it and just learn as I go, here's a few videos I've taken so far: RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - Twitchin Kitten - 08-11-2013 Well, we have a really good backyard mechanic here that can answer nearly any question you put to him. LKTraz is your man. RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - Twitchin Kitten - 08-11-2013 Good luck with the restoration and just remember to take your time and do it right. Lots of people will be jealous once you get it restored. Plan A is to get it road worthy and start working out of it just to have a second vehicle, once that's accomplished I'll save for a second vehicle and take the car back up to the garage and start plan B, complete restoration. RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - Twitchin Kitten - 08-28-2013 So how is this thing going, TenFour? Any progress? RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - TenFour - 08-28-2013 Nope i'll be going back up for a couple days next week though, so hopefully I'll get it running enough to move it out from under that tree. RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - Biker Dude - 08-28-2013 It's a good looking car, a complete one! What have you done so far, and what do you plan to do first? Get it to where it will pass inspection, then start fixing the cosmetic stuff as i get more money, once i get it on the road im going to work out of it for awhile. I'm going to keep making vids as i go and if you want to know the details watch the vids RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - Biker Dude - 08-28-2013 Detailed posts is better. My attention span won't put up with most video's Does it run yet? RE: 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 restoration project: - TenFour - 08-29-2013 if i pour some gas in the bowl on the carb yes but the tank has a hole in it and i got stuck trying to get it out, i know how to now but i need to get back up there, the trunk's rusted out so i gotta replace the trunk pan, then i will be able to put a JEGS racing tank in the trunk until i buy a new tank. |
