I've always admired Amelia Earhart and am intrigued by her disappearance. I hope with this new equipment available and the funding to back up the research, the University of Hawaii finds something that tells of what happened to her.

I saw another article on this a couple of weeks ago. And it brought out more on the case. The reason why this particular island is a prime candidate is because of its close proximity to Howland Island. But also, the island had a nice reef, which would make for an easy water landing.

The problem with a Lockheed Electra is that it would never have been able to have landed on the beach, especially with its landing gear. It would have flipped nose down and perhaps killed the passengers. By landing flat in the reef, it would have been easy to have made it to the island.

The problem is that after all this time, the aircraft could have moved into more deep water after breaking up. And too, both aviators could have also drowned and left no real trace.

There are still a lot of questions, but Nikumaroro(Gardner Island) looks like the best candidate.

Or maybe her cat caused her to suicide and this is all a fake to hide the fact?
