Stuffed mushrooms question... HEY TK! - Twilla - 04-28-2012

I got some ready-made stuffed mushrooms but I have no idea what temp to cook them and how long and I need your expertise.

Sorry for the crappy photo but you can at least get an idea of their size, etc.

Easy. 350ยบ for about half hour covered with some olive oil drizzled over them and a layer of water in the bottom of the pan. Take the cover off for another 20 mins or so. You have to watch them because sometimes they cook faster.

One of these days I'll post my recipe up on the cooking forum for you. These things are so easy to make yourself.

I've made stuffed mushrooms before but I used the little guys and it was just regular chopped up stems, seasoning and cracker crumbs. These suckers are BIG and I figured they'd have different settings.

Thanks!

More than enough for both of us, come on over!

Mmm, those (I had two, I'm not that big of a pig) were delicious. Very light yet tasty and I don't feel any guilt eating them. And yeah, they'd be super easy to make, they just had chopped tomato, chopped onion, a little cilantro (my fave!) and some feta cheese. Needed more cheese and maybe some turkey sausage but other than that, really good.

I use the stems, olive oil, garlic, oregano and Italian flavored bread crumbs to stuff mine. Drizzle olive oil on it and keep them moist while cooking and I can eat a whole tray full. I usually make the big ones - like 2" - 3" across for this though. They last a couple days depending on how hungry Matt is and how many I make. Smile

We had four friends over to join us for dinner on friday (which is why I was missing at the quiz). Angela is vegetarian, not willingly, if she is ill if she eats meat, so she doesn't bother.
Only she is now allergic to mushrooms. It is a good job Mark never cooks her mushrooms because he believes a vegetarian should not eat fungi....since it is a living thing (and he knows Angela eats out a lot and a hostess thinks it is a great meal to include her in on a course)
