His family in Ireland left messages on the answer phone, but never thought it strange he never replied or never got hold of him. Someone in comment said, much what I thought when I read it, why hadn't any of the utility bills brought up outstanding debts. Bailiffs should have been there ages ago! Even now (nearly 25 years) we get a man from the Water Board knock on our door in the summer because we haven't paid a standing sewage charge bill, which arrives around about now stating we owe £00.00.
