RIP Steve Jobs - Vizth Hal - 10-05-2011

Quote:Steve Jobs Is Dead

Steve Jobs is dead. The Apple chairman and former CEO who made personal computers, smartphones, tablets, and digital animation mass-market products passed away today. We're going to miss him. Deeply, and personally.

Steven P. Jobs passed away on October 5th, 2011 after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. He was just 56 years old. We mourn his passing, and wish his family the very best.

He was a technological genius, no one can deny that. I am not a big apple fan however I do like their phones. Steve envisioned and created products way ahead of their time. My dad told me about how he had worked with him for a short time back in the 80's. My dad said " The guy really had vision and if I didn't have to worry about keeping my job to support your mother and brother and sister I would have followed him." If he did I probably would have never been born haha.

Anyone have him in the death pool?

Did you guys know he helped start up Pixar as well and stayed as the biggest shareholder in the company? I didn't know that till this morning.

What he did was brilliant. He made a product that is easy to use and can do more than anyone can imagine. He thought in terms of how the end user would want things to work and built a platform that allowed others to build on and profit from (all those apps).

I started out with a windows computer, two in fact, and I got so sick of the bullshit that came with them, the viruses and everything that took time away from enjoying the thing and bought my first iMac last year. I couldn't be happier. I spent two hours taking shit out of Matt's computer that he didn't install but found its way in through a back door while he installed specific software.

I hope Apple's new boss can keep the level of quality, customer service and innovation at the level Steve Jobs brought it to. It would be a shame to go backward.
