Keurig Rocks, Sears Sucks - Twitchin Kitten - 09-24-2011

Oh last week brought us all kinds of bullshit. What started out as a nice vacation for Matt turned into a lot of running around for nothing.

Our new Keurig coffee maker, bought at Christmas, busted. It just started giving erratic amounts of coffee in the cups until this last few days it was totally FUBAR'ed. Talking to the gal the week before we went through a list of things to do, cleaning, resetting etc. Didn't work. Called last week early and they just said OK and sent out a new one as it is under warranty. The new one came today and it's perfect.

Now, looking at the old reservoir compared to the new, it's missing a screen! I called them and asked if there should have been one in there all along and she said yes. So it is determined that this pot was defective from day one.

This company and their customer service is ACES in my book. No hassles.

Now for Sears. Got an hour? I'll save you the trouble and paste the scathing review I left (and got rejected) on their site for my product.

Briefly before I copy - I bought a food processor to replace my old Sears one from 1982. Even though it's still working, I needed a new one. So Christmas two years ago we get Sears gift cards - as usual, and I buy this thing. I buy it because its' a Kenmore and they stand by their stuff. Well, I was in the middle of using it, stopped the motor to scrape the sides of the bowl, turn it on again and PFFT! It's dead.

So the saga goes as follows:

I bought this item because of the Kenmore/Sears brand. I have an old Counter Craft food processor I purchased in 1982 from Sears that is STILL in working condition. It's starting to sound "old" in the motor so I purchased this machine to replace it. How sorry I am now!

I got this via a Sears gift card for Christmas 2009. I got my item home, registered it online (as I do with ALL my appliances) so I didn't have to worry about saving a receipt for two years. Little did I know the trouble I would run into for this mistake!

Right out of the box on the first use, the cheap plastic bowl developed stress fractures along the bottom and around the "seams". Well, since they were not leaking I didn't worry. I had a two year warranty that I just knew would be backed up. And I had that warranty put in place.
Two weeks ago the thing dies on me. No burning out, it just died right in the middle of making a meal. No worries, I have that WRITTEN two year warranty. Or so I thought.

After 4 hours spread out between two days of phone calls trying to get satisfaction, I'm stuck with a $75 gift card so I can buy a new one. Nice scam.

Everyone on the phone assured me I will not need a receipt. I was told to bring it in directly to any Sears repair outlet or the store of purchase. So I go right to the repair outlet and they didn't even want to discuss it. They sent me to the store because, "It's an exchangeable item." OK off to another town and to the store.
The manager gives me a run around like you won't believe! This was Friday. She even tries to tell me they don't make this processor any longer and I'm looking at directly behind her head! This is the Ocean County, NJ mall store.
Anyway, she then goes on to tell me it's not a 2 year warranty but only one. I beg to differ as I'm reading the warranty in the booklet to her. She still argues and tries to say that regardless they only keep warranties in their system for one year. So she goes to look me up and lo and behold! I'm not in the system. How very convenient. So off I go, frustrated to no end.

Later that day I start making phone calls. LOTS of them. I wind up with a very nice woman who unfortunately, got accidentally disconnected. I was hoping she called back after two hours on the phone but she didn't. So, I waited until today, Monday to call, cool down and get it done. Two hours later I'm left with a "too bad you didn't keep receipts" attitude and a lame replacement of a $75 gift card so I can spend more money on a new one there. Nice scam.

I KNOW for a FACT the time and year a machine is made is coded in all those little numbers on the bottom of each machine. Another thing they avoided at all costs.

I am disappointed in Kenmore brand.
I am disappointed in Sears and their failure to retain my info and help me.
I will not replace this with a same item but I will look for a more reputable brand since Kenmore has not lived up to it's reputation on this.

I guess Sears only wants warm and cozy reviews.

Here's the item in case anyone has the dumb idea of purchasing one. The price is about $30 lower now too. Check out the other reviews on the page - all negative. Mine is the exception because I bitched about the people and Sears as well.

What on earth did you want with a 10 cup coffee machine for?

I know its only me in the house that drinks coffee, but one at a time. My Noggie friends have a brilliant machine which makes one cup (or two) fresh every time. It stores the beans and water and makes a fresh brew at the press of a button. Halle decided it was the best toy he could ever own and Anne decided he should have married it.

Oh it cost him Kr4000. (Kr8 to the £1- then) I think we guess-tamated £450.

It's a ten cup food processor.

The coffee machine makes one cup at a time.

RE: Keurig Rocks, Sears Sucks - Twitchin Kitten - 09-24-2011

Want me to pen something scathing for you? Biggrin

I stood at a drive thru window somewhere in Virginia this summer, I was on my bike, it was 11:30 am and the dining room was not open but the drive thru was. I was at the speaker, saying, "hello?? hello?", with no response. A guy comes trough in a car and tells them that I am there, they said yeah, they will not serve me because I am not in a vehicle. I was pissed. I debated on waiting till noon and going in an pulling that little fucker over the counter, or trying to get hold of him through the window, or going apeshit and throwing a garbage can through the window, or just going through the drive thru on my bike and demanding service, but every scenario ended with me in the back of a police car with a dog biting me on my ass.
I e-mailed the cock smokers and told them what a bunch of rude, inconsiderate, worthless, fucks they were, and there was no response. Reston, Va....that's where it was.

Well, Taco Bell has a facebook page. You may want to sign up just to post this story on their page. You can ditch your account later after you do the damage Wink

I have NEVER been refused service through a drive through on my bike, and I've even done so on horseback and got service! All kinds of places. There's no rule where they can't give you service. You should have pounded on the pay / receive window and demanded service. Also, last time I checked, a bicycle is a legal vehicle which has to obey traffic laws. So how can it not be a 'vehicle'?

Did you send the letter to corporate? Send it again, and again and send it to every address in corporate you can find. Also, you got free long distance on your phone? make calls and take names, write down dates and times you speak and generally make their life miserable for no other reason now than spite for not acknowledging your email. Hell, print out and sign the original and send it return receipt. Make some schmuck sign for it so you know it was received. Just because you can.

You should get a mess of coupons for free swill doing all that. Smile

Fuck wasting all that time, I just banned taco bell, along with arby's, pontillo's pizza, ponderosa steak house, north side deli, council opticians, marriot, etc, etc, etc...
I will never go into taco bell again except to buy a giant pop and refill it 9 times before leaving with my pockets stuffed with fire sauce and napkins.

RE: Keurig Rocks, Sears Sucks - Twitchin Kitten - 09-25-2011

There's still Ponderosa steak house? I thought that shit hole went down years ago along with Sizzler.

Write the letter anyway for the grief it's going to give those bitches that work in that one joint. That's my 2¢.
