Some pictures to share - kbear - 10-06-2009 Bruce and I had soem rings made a few weeks ago. The blue stone we had cut and done in the ring. The red one is a cut gemstone that we found in the bucket. Bruce get the bucket with a cut stone inside. That way I can get something new for sure. I saw the bird on the lake over the weekend and had to stop and get some pictures of it. He was just sitting in the tree. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() They are clicky so you can see them better. RE: Some pictures to share - Twitchin Kitten - 10-06-2009 That looks like an Egret Kim! We have loads of them and Heron's here in the wet areas around the ponds but not the swamps. RE: Some pictures to share - LKTraz - 10-06-2009 It is indeed an egret. Good eye there TK. RE: Some pictures to share - kbear - 10-06-2009 We have one that lives in our cove. They fish in the cove all the time. They are fun to watch! RE: Some pictures to share - Rhubarb - 10-07-2009 Love the green stone Kim. Yep total vote It's an Egret. They used to be a rare passing bird lost from a storm at sea. Birds get blown off course a lot on the Jurassic coast and find the local area a haven. The Egrets ahve colonised on Brownsea Island, which has a perfect inland tidal lake for them. It is so weird to see, local sea birds with the only colony of Avocets and now Egrets in the UK together.
