Thunder Shirts - Twitchin Kitten - 06-23-2011 Has anyone heard of these? Dave next door told me about them when I caught up with him yesterday. THUNDER SHIRTS Click on the videos to check them out. Those little Shih Tzu's are just untrained, unruly little beasts and IMO the shirt isn't doing much for them. But the little Boston with the storm did calm down. Daisy's separation anxiety since Goliath died is really getting bad. I can't even go into another room and close the door without her freaking out. The price is right for me to give it a go. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of it or seen it used. Until this, I was seriously considering another dog to keep her company. I REALLY don't want another dog. One dog at a time is plenty but if it would keep her settled, I was going to go for it. $40 for the vest seems better than a lifetime of vet bills right now. RE: Thunder Shirts - LKTraz - 06-25-2011 No clue on this one but at $40 it's cheap enough to experiment. If it works, GREAT! If not, well it was only 40 bucks. We have a string of "getting the dog a puppy" going. Bruce was all good when Skittles died because he has the cats as pals but getting Rufus gave him someone to play with. Bruce was more out of sorts when his favorite cat died. RE: Thunder Shirts - Twitchin Kitten - 01-13-2012 Update for anyone interested. These things are utter junk. RE: Thunder Shirts - AnthonyG - 01-13-2012 they took this idea from the cow restraints they use them to calm down cows before injections and branding. They say it gives them a holding feeling that makes them calm down and focus. RE: Thunder Shirts - Twitchin Kitten - 01-14-2012 Yeah I know. It's a crock of shit. The video on the site - the last bunch of dogs, the unruly Shih-Tsu's, those dogs simply need training and I'm not buying that those shirts worked on them. Those little dogs are awful creatures. Maybe it works for some but not others but using it first hand, I can tell you that it most likely puts a strain on the animal's breathing and circulation and that's why it "works". Properly fitted, it's really tight and I can see it restricting, even with the flexible fabric. RE: Thunder Shirts - Rhubarb - 01-14-2012 That sounds cruel rather than helpful |
