Pool Party! - Twitchin Kitten - 06-01-2011
So, I'm hosting my first pool party Monday afternoon. My friend Mary is coming over to do my hair and I invited a couple other girls over. No guys. Girls only.
I'm going to make my famous Vodka Slushies and my friends may bring chemical libations.
Anyone local feel like coming and you're female, you're invited.

I can't believe the pool is as warm as it is already. It usually takes more than a week before it's even warm enough to swim in after opening. It's almost 90ยบ in the water now.

Well, yesterday was a mini disaster.
After getting out of the house early and running around, spending money like water and getting annoyed every step of the way, I only had one friend over.
I knew it was going to be a flop when my handbag handle broke getting into the car. Then I turned down the wrong street to the store I wanted to hit (can't make right turns in Jersey, only lefts via jughandles) and wound up getting a mini tour of some neighborhood. I nixed it and just got back to the main road and hit Kmart. Got a few things there but not exactly what I needed, and headed to Big Lots. Got a text from Mary pulling into the lot. She's not coming. Damnit, damnit, damnit - that's the one friend I planned this all around. I need that haircut!
OK so, I call Sammy to make sure she's coming, no answer. Called Eva, she's on and so far her cousin is.
OK good. I head into Big Lots and get what I need there and I'm heading to ShopRite for the food and booze.
I got what I needed, the place is a total clusterfuck with construction inside and outside in the lot.
Now instead of parking that big ass truck under the tree at the back of the lot in the row no one likes to park, I gotta find one in the sun between other cars. PAIN IN THE ASS! But I manage. I also got a dirty look from some old man because I parked next to his piss-pot. Making faces like he had no room too. Fucker was able to open his door fully and get in with comfort and ease. Fuck you old man, I know how to drive my truck. I gave him a blast of diesel for making faces then shut off the vehicle. I get inside, bastards are doing inventory AND reconfiguring the store at the same time. It's full of Bennies too.
I try to zip around and look for what I need. I really didn't want to go up to the Arabs, really I did not. I wanted to make do close to home.
I got everything but one item. Fuckfuckfuck!
I wind up having to hit the Arabs anyway. I should have bought my fruit and veggies there. Half the price and nicer. I'm kicking myself out the door.
No word from Sammie yet.
I get home, start cooking, cleaning etc and Sammie calls. She's not coming. Great. I hope Matt eats all this shit during the week! He will.
Sammie's car is in the impound because she let some asshole use it. He said he was going down the block. He gets himself busted in Camden! He had warrants out for driving without a license and other offenses. She has to make her way down state and get the car. He's in jail, she lost a roommate.
Eva gets sick of waiting for Jesse to get done with the kids and comes up early. That's fine, I don't mind. I'm ahead of myself for once. Eva gets here, gets a call from her daughter who was going to babysit Jesse's kids, she ain't doing it, she changed her mind. LIttle bitch.
So it was me and Eva until 10:00 PM. We had fun no matter and Matt got a kick out of the old stories from high school. More stuff validated that he was skeptical about from me telling them! Hell he must have been a very good boy to be so shocked at the things we did!
One thing is different about Eva now... she does not shut up. OMG loud (Matt said he'll never call me loud again) and seriously never shuts up! We used to get high and just sit there enjoying our heads. I did not get many words in, Eva did all the talking! We must have smoked a whole bag of weed too. It was actually nice after she left! It gave my head a chance to calm down. She enjoyed my vodka slushies too. We polished off half a bottle of vodka between us. I was good though, two drinks (yes, half a bottle for four pint size glasses) each and I was in a good place.
Matt comes in and thinks I should do this once a month.
Eva wants me to go down to her next time.

I've had parties similar. I would never wait til the "day of" to shop just cuz I'm so anal like that. Glad you had a good time. If I was stoned, I would have told Eva to chill.

LOL NO WAY! She's not attractive enough!
I usually am prepared well in advance but Matt and I spent a whole day out riding - 11 miles! and having a nice day Sunday. We were going to do some of the shopping but we were just too tired and figured it would be easy the next day. I got enough food for the week for us out of it anyway so it's not a total loss of time.
