Here it is! - Twitchin Kitten - 05-06-2011 OK I picked up my new bike today! ![]() I hate the seat. They don't believe me and said I need to use it for awhile before they swap seats out for me. The seat on the Giant bike felt nicer and was more comfy. Matt's bike has a nice seat. We may just swap. OK Here's my bike! On the truck coming home. [attachment=1705] In the driveway: [attachment=1706] [attachment=1707] And here's Matt's bike. *the freebie we're keeping. [attachment=1708] [attachment=1709] RE: Here it is! - BallseyMalone - 05-06-2011 Look at Joan's bike in the background, much tougher than mine! RE: Here it is! - twisteroo - 05-07-2011 Both are nice looking bikes, although the Trek does look a bit cooler. Get better seat, that is usually the first thing I do is take the seat off an put on on that I like. I have a few brand new seats around that are just too thin and skinny for my old boney ass. One thing that I noticed was missing though. ![]() RE: Here it is! - Twitchin Kitten - 05-07-2011 Yes, that's on my list of things to order off Amazon. The skinny seat that comes with the Giant Rincon that I tried last fall was perfect. I hate this seat and the guy at the shop does not believe me that it's uncomfortable. The second I put my ass on it I knew it sucked. I know my ass, and my asses comfort level. I noticed when we were locking them up last night that this prick put a sticker on it advertising his shop. That's got to go. Hair dryer comes out after this morning's Home Depot trip and it is coming off there, along with the warning sticker telling me not to stick my fingers in the moving sprockets. Gee, ya think? ![]() I taped up the metal bits on my lock too. This way it doesnt' scratch it up. My water bottle does not fit. Damnit. Last nights quest for the same one (with the ice center) failed. It's going to kill me to get one from the bike shop. They don't have the one with the ice middle. RE: Here it is! - twisteroo - 05-07-2011 That's the bad thing about some of those bikes, there is not enough room on the frame for a water bottle, that Giant we just bought has the mount under the bike. I have a couple of bikes that have them under, but it is a 3rd mount. You can't reach it while on the move and the bottle gets covered with shit from the road or trail. We had to get a handle bar mount for a bottle cage. RE: Here it is! - Twitchin Kitten - 05-07-2011 Get me a picture of that thing so I know what to look for Twist. We went on a four hour mission for a water bottle today to no avail. I may wind up needing that handle bar mount thing too. I like a big jug of water with me and the small size I'm going to have to squeeze in there ain't going to cut it. Haven't even gone for a ride yet! Been busy playing farmer and planting a garden today. RE: Here it is! - twisteroo - 05-07-2011 Son of a...... I'm liking some of these a lot better than the one that we got. http://www.nordicgroup.us/cageboss/#King_Cage_Top_Cap_Cage_Mount_ And now I think we should have one of these. ![]() RE: Here it is! - Twitchin Kitten - 05-08-2011 Oh I like that one! I rigged my water bottle to the handlebars on the Huffy anyway because I like it easy to reach. it's just a clip that uses the cage I already have and this way I can take two bottles too. Edit to add: Damn, they have a lot of nice things on that link! I like the bottle holder, iPhone holder combo thing. I can listen to music and ride or answer the phone without getting off the bike and stopping! Sweet. RE: Here it is! - twisteroo - 05-08-2011 Isn't it fun shopping for bike stuff? It's almost better than the actual riding. RE: Here it is! - Twitchin Kitten - 05-08-2011 I just want to get out and ride! All I need is my rack over the back tire (need to get a new one of those) and water and a wet towel and a tool kit. Now, you got a recommendation for a nice emergency tool kit? I've kind of hijacked some of my regular tools and allen wrenches but I'm sure there's a nice kit for this stuff now. That way I can put my tools back where they belong too. |
