RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Black Sun - 03-10-2010 03:49 PM Maybe it was to keep the kids in the Dolce and Gabbana clothes they have become accustomed to? It's clothes, sports, shoes, hair cuts, housing, and all the other extras kids need and want. I could dig getting $500 a week in support from my ex. He has a cow over what he pays me now and even tells the kids that I spend most of it on myself. As if. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 03-10-2010 04:24 PM Lori you should nip that shit in the bud now. My father absolutely poisoned my brothers against my mom and her whole side of the family and they have the worst opinion of women to boot. He's done some serious psychological damage to them all because he hated paying child support. Bastard bitched about $60 a week. That's right. All he had to pay was $20/kid and he made it sound like he was asked to give a limb. I had the good sense to ignore him and his bullshit. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Loricat - 03-10-2010 04:30 PM I do my best TK. As a result of my ex-holes stupidness, our oldest son won't have anything to do with him and hasn't for over a year. Our youngest goes back and forth between not wanting to see him and going because his father makes him feel guilty. Z is 10 and way to young to be hearing the crap that his father tells him about me and my family and his own family who he is estranged from. After this past weekend, Z doesn't want to go over there anymore. I won't make him. The saddest thing is my ex is too shallow or too stupid to realize that damage he is causing. He just blames me and says I turned the boys against him when he did it to himself. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 03-10-2010 04:35 PM he sounds EXACTLY like my father. He has a cow over what he pays me now and even tells the kids that I spend most of it on myself. As if. Well, I was being facetious but my comment still stands. That's a lot of money and unless the mother isn't working, I think some of her paycheck should be going toward clothes, sports, shoes, hair cuts, housing and all the other extras kids need and want. It's unfair to have the majority of someone's paycheck handed over while they live in poverty. And I know what I'm talking about, I've seen a few men where I work end up sleeping in their cars because they can't afford rent for a studio apartment after 'child care' payments. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Loricat - 03-10-2010 04:51 PM In my situation, my ex owns two houses and owns 2 vehicles. I own one of each. I pay all of their extra activities. He carries their insurance and he works for the company and gets the cheapest coverage. I pay the co-pays and it's $50 for an office visit. I haven't had an increase in support in 7 years because he pays me directly. I have to petition the court for a review. I am doing that shortly. I agree that both parents should be responsible for supporting the kids. Neither parent should be destitute trying to support their children. In cases like the guys you work with, WHY are they paying so much in support that they can't afford housing? In NY, the father pays 25% of his salary for two kids. I also added the insurance and that the ex pays half of daycare. He makes a lot more than I do so I could have had the daycare prorated based on our salaries, but I agreed to split it. He is a cheap bastard and can afford his ciggs, beer, and toys but can't take the kids for a haircut. Or buy a birthday present for a party they attend on his weekend. Fucker. I don't want my ex to suffer or to not be able to live comfortably. But he can damn well pay his fair share for his chilren. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twilla - 03-10-2010 04:59 PM I dunno how the payments are figured... in California, they took a percentage of the father's salary, but here in Utah, they don't seem to care if they leave the man destitute or not. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - LH - 03-10-2010 06:08 PM I have liked Twilla 100 and 101 times.
