RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 05-26-2011 05:05 PM I was thinking the same thing. I have a rear rack that goes on the seatpost but the hole is too small for my seatpost. Apparently they come in different sizes. I'll be checking out the stuff in the bike shop and then maybe finding cheaper prices online. A conventional rack does not work on my bike, there's no place to hook it to the frame - that tri-corner where the seat / frame middle / rear wheel all weld together. Mine is more of a U shaped thing coming from the frame. I'll take a pic. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 05-26-2011 06:48 PM A bike shop will be able to mount a rack on it, or supply you with the brackets. The should be able to put a rack on anything. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 05-26-2011 06:51 PM Yeah, I know. They have their work cut out for them, I assure you
RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 05-26-2011 06:54 PM OR........just look here. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 05-26-2011 07:05 PM Oh those are nice. A good price too it seems. See that "triangle" on that frame in the image for the closeup on that page? My bike frame does not look like that. It's just a tube with a U around the tires. I'll get a pic tomorrow when I drag it out of the shed. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 05-27-2011 06:47 PM Anybody got special plans for the holiday weekend? We're going to putter around the yard, do some work on the pool, clean the grill and hit the bike shop. It's Fleet Week in NYC and we were thinking of driving in but maybe I'll get Matt to fix that tie rod instead. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 05-27-2011 06:59 PM You don't even have to ask me. I'm working thru till next Thursday. RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 05-27-2011 07:37 PM There's definitely something wrong with you. Are you going for that perfect record or you get triple OT for working holiday's? You're a damn Teamster - you should be accumulating days off since you've been taken off provisional. My mom retired with over a year's worth of paid days off. She had to forfeit like another year because they don't allow you (in Housing) to take more than a year at one time now. You should enjoy the summer days. Hell, I'd be screaming "Pool Party!" this weekend if it didn't rain all month and delay the opening! RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - kbear - 05-27-2011 11:18 PM I'm going to do nothing! I have no plans at all!!!!!!!!! RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - twisteroo - 05-28-2011 04:46 AM kbear, come on up, you can come to work with me and keep me company. I actually like working holidays, it's the same work and I get paid very well for holidays. I actually get like 10 paid holidays, a couple of floaters and I'm up to 4 weeks vacation, with another week like a year and half away. I also get 5 sick days a year that I never use. I'm there for one reason, to earn a paycheck and hopefully retire one day, I can't do either of those if I'm not there. I do use all my paid time off, I am very happy to not be there and still get paid. Now the fun part, Jun 11th, 3 day weekend, June 18th, 3 day weekend, June 25th, vacation week, Jul 4th end of vacation but 3 day weekend, don't have to go back to work till Thursday of that week. Jul 23th, on vacation till Aug 10th, Sep 3-13th more vacation, and I'll have another spare floating holiday kicking around by then. |
