My favorite manga, period.
Well what can i stay about the story, You start off in the middle of an unbelievably dark and violent world. This is where you'll likely get turned off, because there is little understandable story and unbelievable amounts of violence.
The entire second story arc is a flashback that shows how our character got to be where he is, to his rise from a lonely mercenary to a noble, his fall into a revenge driven empty husk after he was betrayed and the world as he knew it was destroyed completely.
The artwork especially in the later volumes is amazing.
Also i can not emphasize that this is a violent manga.
N/C 17 for brutal fights, dismemberment, rape, gallons of blood, occasional belly exploding monsters, and the occasional orgy. But i also need to say that the story needs this kind of universe for you to really get immersed in it.
If you are going to try this, my advice is at least read the first 5 volumes before you make your judgment. O and one last note, the protagonists name is guts not gatts, says gatts due to a translation error.
