Baby Humming Bird Rescue - Twitchin Kitten - 11-26-2010

Sadly this one does not embed. Click to find an amazing video of some kid who rescued and hand raised a baby hummingbird.

Wink I found a little trick to grab the video. Hopefully this works for you as it does for me.

Pretty cool. I can't imagine how much work that was.

Are you gonna tell us the trick to grabbing video? Could I say grab video off of something like youporn and burn it on a DVD? Hmmmmm?

RE: Baby Humming Bird Rescue - Twitchin Kitten - 11-27-2010

Give me a link to a porn site you want to grab stuff from and I'll show you how. Every site has a different code to look for. If you got Skype, you can add me to your skype and I'll walk you through it all live.

YOU NEED THE FIREFOX BROWSER TO DO MOST OF THIS KIND OF STUFF! Tongue Don't be afraid.
With FF you can grab lots of odd things you would never be able to because it has an extractor in the browser. Top it off you can get add ons for the browser that will allow you to salvage even more. All kinds of things IE will never let you do.

Anyway, it's a matter of looking through the view source code on any website and if you know what the video code is, you can see if it's a link or an embedded player. This one was a link.

Wow....ditch my IE? Sorry

Microsoft is the devil. 90% of the things that are "ms" are proprietary and many things are blocked.

You can keep both browsers safely. I actually prefer my Safari browser but it doesn't have the multiple lines of quick links that I got with the plugin for FF. Nor can I change skins on it to have little kitties across the top. Little things like that you won't get wit IE either.

Why not install it and play around using it for awhile? Install it, when you get the pop up that asks if you want it to be your default browser, say no but leave the box checked to make the pop up keep showing until you make your decision.
Make sure you go to Tools > options and set it up how you want it to behave as well.

You can have fun on the site finding addons too.

But basically, you need to see the > View > view source (or page source in IE) to find the code that houses the videos.
If the code is a simple link, you can grab the link and test it with the preview post feature because most video embeds with a simple link here. Some you can't grab that easily and you need an add on from FF that allows you to grab xml or other flash videos off the web.

To do that you just go to (In FF only) Tools > page info - and find the video in the media tab > highlight it and save as. Hopefully you have a player on your system that will then be able to read the file you just saved. IE does NOT do this by default. FF does.

Aww!! It worked!! I tryied to do the same thing once, but I failed!! Sad I kept Piper (that was his/her name, hehe) alive for a week, and then it died! I was very sad, I tought I was doing it fine, it almost learned to fly...
I fed Piper each 15 minutes and kept him warm and everything...

Birds are the hardest things to rescue and keep alive and healthy. I've failed too many times to count.

I've choked a few out of a cat's mouth.
