New Year's Eve with Chuck Berry - Twitchin Kitten - 11-03-2010

Well I posted about this concert at BB King's in Times Square last year and thought it was a once in a lifetime deal. Apparently he plays every New Years there.

This year we're going to go.

Tickets are expensive for general admission - $120 and a VIP booth for 4 is $160 per person and you have to buy the whole booth.

Anyone want to come to NY for New Years in Times Square? We're going to take the 11PM show.

Last time I was in the city for new years was 1979 to see the Ramones at the Paramount Theater. They let out before midnight and we were in the 14th street subway station with about a thousand people counting down to midnight.

Tickets just went down in price for this! We're now seriously considering going. If we get gift cards from Santa that would be even better!

That girl we met at the Dr. Hawass lecture is going to be in town for that weekend too. We plan on meeting up with her but I doubt that Chuck Berry will be something that she'll take the kids to see. I think they'd rather do the tourist thing and watch the ball drop. We talked about meeting for drinks one of the days she's here. Now I'm getting myself wound up.

I saw Chuck Berry in Boston in 78 he was the opener for Steve Miller. Earlier in the day Andy Pratt played a free concert at Government center outside..........those were the days. Can anyone tell me who taught Steve Miller how to play guitar? Headpoke

I'm pretty sure it was the Gibson guitar god himself, Les Paul.

So, this year was the year we were going to this show. Guess what? He's not playing Tantrum

We want to do something this year too, so now we're left empty and without a clue what to do. It's looking like there isn't much going on that we would want to do in the city on New Year's Eve as well.

This sux.

That's on the list of things to take with.
I think we found an all night comedy festival.
