Matt's New Bike - Twitchin Kitten - 10-31-2010 OK so Bobby came down with the bikes yesterday and Matt got a "new" bike. Bobby had this bike sitting in his shed for a few years and looking it up, it's a 1999 model Hardrock Specialized Specs here: http://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=1999&Brand=Specialized&Model=Hardrock&Type=bike It's in pretty good shape for a bike lying around. It's got twist shifters but Matt didn't mind them. No suspension and it could use a tune up. The welds are nice It's a little dirty now but click the images for a full size view and easier reading of the wording. It is a really nice bike, for a decent bike on the cheap you can't go wrong. Look around CL, they pop up a lot. RE: Matt's New Bike - Twitchin Kitten - 10-31-2010 Eesh, I was busting about the welds. I know it's a steel frame. You can't get much cheaper than free! And for the small amount of time Matt rides compared to me, it's a good bike until he knows exactly what he wants. That other çrappy Magna thing is so bad he only got annoyed riding it. At this point, any bike in good working order would suit him! So, now at least he has something decent to gauge off of. RE: Matt's New Bike - twisteroo - 10-31-2010 I'd like to drag that thing down the basement for the winter, strip it down, get the frame powder coated if needed, repack all the bearnings, change out those shifters for triggers shifters, find a suspension front fork, change the cables....... |
