This is the only water tap in the village

We only get to the village at certain times of the year. This will be the last time until possibly Christmas for us, when it can be still very popular to walk through. I'm not quite sure about the renovations that have been going on in the last few years or not. As a child I didn't even get close to the Rectory because of the brambles. Today I walked through the stables, kitchen and into the parlour to see the seaview from the window for the first time.

So what's wrong with the water you can't drink it?

If you do drink it does it make you thirsty? What the heck does that mean?

RE: Do not drink the water - BarEdul - 08-30-2010

no but you will be pouring out water so you better have a bathroom close by....

It's a quote from the Bible. You know like feeding the five thousand? The tap is outside the church gate. So, since the landowner had to provide water for his tenants in the village he was reminding them that they will always need water but taking up a belief in God they will not be thirsty in religion.

The tap works, only it comes direct from Military property which is out of bounds so the Water Board cannot test the quality. Therefore it could be contaminated (there are cows and sheep roaming freely on the Downs).

RE: Do not drink the water - BarEdul - 08-31-2010

Sheep poop now days is nothing compared to whats in the water in the united states, hell I'll trade some old fashioned sheep poop for toxic waste any day... maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

If it's brown, drink it down I always say.

That almost qualifies as a stupid warning label!
