Secretariat - Twitchin Kitten - 07-03-2010

I can't wait for this to come out in theaters! I remember watching all three races when he won, and the Belmont is his greatest victory. I won't say anything in case there are those who don't know about that race and want to see the movie too. I was like 13 and watched it with my father with my mouth open the whole race.

Aww Seabiscuit would have kicked his ass.

No way!

Little known fact: Secretariat's heart was bigger than normal. That is what gave him that extra "go" running. His deeper chest, large nostrils and extra blood got him that edge.

I might have to do some searching and see if there are actual times recorded on these two horses.

Secretariat was probably on the same stuff Floyd Landis used.Headpoke

Knock yourself out. There are records all over the place.
Big Red raced clean. He also ran each quarter of the Belmont faster than the one before. Seabiscuit never did that. He was fast for a little horse, he probably had a large heart too but he just was not as fast as Secretariat. No horse has broken his records yet.

Finally got this from Netflix over the weekend. Odd coincidence that the Kentucky Derby ran the same day.

The movie was great. I thoroughly enjoyed the extras on the disk too. Watching some of the real footage brought back memories of watching it as a kid. I'm so glad I was able and interested to see that part of history as it was made. To date, no horse has ever come close to that record run of his and no horse ever since has been able to run each quarter mile faster than the last.

My only wish was that I had gotten to visit him in Kentucky before he died. Sadly my asshole ex didn't think that would be a good vacation.
