The sneak a cup debate - twisteroo - 05-07-2010

Does using the sneak a cup option on the coffee maker actually ruin the rest of the pot of coffee? I don't think so, I will always grab a cup just as soon as there is enough coffee to fill my cup. Sure it is strong like cowboy coffee but that is the best cup. I've been yelled at for doing it because supposedly it screws up the rest of the pot, making it weak.
What's your opinion on this age old debate?

If you make it, you can break it.

Well, when I used to use a drip coffee maker I would do the same thing. The reason I did it is because that is the hottest cup you'll get out of the whole machine. I don't think it's any stronger nor does it take away from the rest of the pot.

When my drip machine went kaput a few years ago, I resorted to using my tiny Farberware pot until I can replace it. Well, during that time, I found the coffee smoother, less bitter and most importantly, hotter. There is nothing like a very hot cup of joe. room temperature coffee is "gooey" and leaves a bitter taste. From that day forward, I went with electric perc and never looked back.

I have a drip machine for emergencies but I tell you, it just does not compare.

I want to get a French Press machine one of these days and see how that makes it.

It is definitely the strongest cup of the pot-yum, Tell whomever hollers at you to get a life. I notice no discernable difference in the pot when I take the first cup.

I drink the rest of the pot also ,so If I don't care then who else can?

I see no difference when I do it. I have a nice grind and brew coffee maker and the flavor doesn't seem to be affected at all if I grab a cup before it's finished brewing.

Coffee is good. Coffee is the brown elixir of life. Coffee right off the top of the brew is what we impatient people live for!

It is settled then, I shall never be denied that first cup of cowboy coffee again. I will just send them here if they have a problem with it.

You want I should lean on them a little if they come to complain?
