Which bike ya wanna rent?" LOL! I know, scared the hell out of my cousin. RE: Show off your ride - PIG - 06-27-2012 Ok, so here's a shitty one size fits all shot from my cell this morning. Left is the new overlander, then a series of Hondas in various states of disrepair. The 2 with plates blanked out are used daily. [attachment=2034] RE: Show off your ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-27-2012 OK so the Isuzu - what's so modified about it? It looks like a pickup with a cap and grille guard to me. Maybe beefed up suspension for rough roads and 4x4 but I don't see what's so super special that would hold up you getting it from the bank. Is there something super modified that is not visible from looking at the truck? RE: Show off your ride - PIG - 06-28-2012 There is no logic in the delay. The insurance guy had issue that it was not factory standard. He had the list of mods checked by an "expert" who said it was fine. But that took them 6 hours. Mods include suspension basically 90% replaced, bumpers front and back, belly plates and rock sliders on the underside, engine has been chipped, free flow exhaust and engine management system, long range fuel tank (125l dunno what that is in gallons), swing arms at the back for spare wheel and jerry can (not pictured here), spot lights, ICE was replaced, roof racks (seller took the actual racks but the mounts are still there)....and the roll bar has been taken out. The whole process was just slow because they suck. When I asked them at the start how long it would take they said average of 2 weeks, but it really depends on how fast they get the paper work from buyer and seller. Even with delays from insurance etc, our paper work was sorted in 3 days, including putting it through a 101 point check and having a new road worthy certificate generated. RE: Show off your ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-28-2012 125 liters is 32.5 US gallons. Not a bad size tank for a small truck. My big truck has a 35 gallon tank stock. With all those mods, you'd think they would give the go ahead faster! It's safer than off the lot. It's got to be a bit heavier with all that weight added, how much extra fuel does it suck up because of it? RE: Show off your ride - LH - 06-28-2012 My wife has gone 33,000 miles in her car in 12 years we got it at 42,000 and it now reads around 75-76,000 miles a Dodge stratus. I'm thinking of just leasing her next car. So it would be new every 2-3 years. RE: Show off your ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-28-2012 That would be ideal with her kind of usage. I'm thinking about that with a new mustang in a couple years. It weighs about 600kgs more I believe. It is a bit heavier on fuel...maybe 10%. According to the previous owner. However, the tyres on it are also a bit bigger, so it's giving false readings for speed and mileage. I'm not sure if he took that into account. The chip and exhaust win some of it back. How often do you guys usually swap cars? My truck gets about 23 highway and 18 city, but it's also a diesel. They're making big 8 and 10 cylinder gas engines that get that much and more now though. The door tag says it weighs like 8800 pounds and I have it registered at 10,000 pounds. We swap cars according to our needs I guess. Finances factor in. Leasing if you can afford to always be making some kind of car payment gets you a new car every two years. Some dealerships put limits to mileage and what not on leases. Some models are not available for lease, so we buy them. |
