RE: Show off your ride - Rhubarb - 03-12-2010 This is his first bike after No1 passed his full test. At 17 he was only allowed the 250cc, or up to 400cc with the engine restricted, which has to been done by the dealership and confirmed at DVLA (or the police put the blue lights on). He chose the heavy lump of this old 250 Superdream (or it does have another nickname which I'm sure a Mocker could work out) Christine's Renault 4 is parked behind. I don't think you can see the Saab 95 very well, and the other 96 is behind that! This is the Goblin, recently named by my friend at work! She knows I'm not very fond of it, I like my estate and we had 2 saloons when Mark bought it and really didn't need another! I don't really care for leather interior because it's so sweaty in the summer. But I do have heated seats so it's not bad in the winter. If I could get a V6 with cloth, I would though. My parents had a Honda Accord until recently when they bought the Jazz (called Fitt ?) Dad's hates it, he bought it solely for mum to drive and then her health stopped her from driving. He wanted a Civic! BoyRacer a 73........... Last year really showed us how the USA car market has changed, seeing so much Jap Crap was an eye-opener. A lesson to GM and Ford? RE: Show off your ride - Twitchin Kitten - 03-12-2010 Oh I don't know Trudi... the massive recall of Toyota and Honda this month has a lot of problems brewing for the two Japanese automakers. Many of the fixed recalled Toyota's are still running away on people and things don't look too promising in the near future for them. This is hurting them big time. It's a world wide recall. Don't believe what you hear about American cars being inferior. I've never had a problem with durability and reliability of any American car I've ever owned. Whatever the manufacturer, it's all about how you take care of your vehicle. No lesson needed for Ford! They didn't get bailed out and they are doing just fine. RE: Show off your ride - twisteroo - 03-12-2010 Cannondale, handmade in the USA or something. It was one of the few handmade produced frames made in the US, I understand they are now being farmed out to China or something. Like the end of an era or whatever. Anyway, I had to have one, I had to have a wine buzz too but that is besides the point. Soooooo.....I picked up this pile last fall. And over the winter did this to it. Yeah, that's in my bedroom, that is only one of two bikes in my bedroom at the moments. RE: Show off your ride - Twitchin Kitten - 03-12-2010 Does that seat give you a cheap thrill or what? RE: Show off your ride - twisteroo - 03-12-2010 It's a little better than the one on my other bike. I'd have to have that seat surgically removed from my oversized ass cheeks if I ever rode that bike. RE: Show off your ride - LH - 03-13-2010 I love that car! Very stylish. I could wear my yellow rain jacket and play Inspector Gadget in that. RE: Show off your ride - Havoc - 03-14-2010 Don't screw with a man and his ride whatever it might be!! RE: Show off your ride - LKTraz - 03-14-2010 Ok......my work ride, well one similar. Mine is white, has the fender mirrors and I don't have the "vista view" window on the cab roof. Otherwise it's the same thing. Mack CX600 Vision. With the bikes, TK is right about the engine size. The Kawasaki Ninja 250 will eat the average 750cc bike for breakfast. I had a Suzuki GT 350 that made 750s look dumb! Now anyone who rides knows a 350 should not try to rip your arms out of the shoulder sockets but mine could. It's not necessarily engine size and horsepower but rather how much torque and at what RPM it can be developed that determines the acceleration rate of a bike. Those crotch rocket style bikes just BEG you to twist them open and fly. |
