Yellowstone, and a Fumarole.
Which one I don't know. There are literally thousands in Yellowstone
And if thats not it, I'm at a loss since we've eliminated Geysers and Hot Springs.

Well you're so damn close!
It's in the Norris Geyser Basin and porcelain basin at Yellowstone.
I'll have to give it to you since you gave such a broad spectrum guess but I don't think anyone will dig up the correct name unless they've actually visited Yellowstone now that I think about it.

A paint pot eh? It seriously looks like sponge geyser (some of the pics of it) and it also looks like several fumaroles lol. I think Yellowstone just has too many geological features

Nope. Look at what TYPE of ships they are. That narrows it down a lot. And its in the US of A.

In the left foreground yes. However to ID the rest of the ships tied up at the piers, look at their bows.
Hint, if you click the pic and get the larger view its easier to distinguish features. I know the pic is kinda grainy. Its pretty old.

I thought they were mostly fishing boats.
Is this in the north west or north east?
I know it's far up north due to the blue water. Warmer water is more green.
