RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-17-2010 When I first moved in here some guy went batshit and shot up the neighborhood. John Mabe. I was supposed to be the eye witness in the trial but I wound up having major surgery on my neck the day of the trial. Turned out I got a phone call the day after and they wound up not having the trial. He confessed to the whole thing and said he would rather stay in jail. I can't find an old news story on it but he was a cop who went nuts. Woke up one day and decided to start shooting up the place. I was working on the computer and I heard shots and screams. He locked his wife in the basement, went across the street and stabbed his teenage granddaughter, killed his sister and then shot the lady on his left and the couple on his right. The couple was about to get married. I counted 9 shots with the 911 operator on the phone with. Once it quieted down, I took the dog, went out and saw him coming out of his house and sit on the stoop and put his head in his hand waiting for the cops to arrive. Two weeks later, another cop lost it and killed his family then himself. RE: Meet Mikki! - twisteroo - 08-18-2010 Wow, that's kinda fucked up. I know being around and seeing that kinda stuff can mess you up for awhile. I saw the tail end of a shootout on a sidewalk down in Melbourne, Fl one time, both guys died, I didn't exactly stick around to help either, fuck them. RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-18-2010 I didn't see the shooting, I heard them. I was on the phone with 911 after I heard three shots and a scream. I was looking out my window but the house is positioned in such a way that stupid Glady's overgrown cedar BUSH is blocking it. The bush is 30 feet high. ![]() Mabe's excuse was that 32 years prior when he was a Newark cop, he was down here for vacation (these homes were originally built as summer cottages) he hit and killed a kid who was in the street on a go-kart. He never got over it and this caused him to rampage. Bullshit. Anyone so grief stricken does not kill the neighborhood 32 years later. If anything, he'd have killed HIMSELF a few years after. We'll never know the true reason why he snapped. Now, back to Mikki--- we can talk about Mabe in another thread if you want. I am not bothered by that shit. ![]() I've been cleaning her left, partially cauliflowered ear daily. I got some old ear meds going in there too. I have no clue WTF I'm pulling out of there but it's not pus and it don't stink but there is a ton of liquid in there that is bothering her. Hopefully what I'm doing will do the trick. I just don't have money for the vet right now. Might drop by that spay clinic too. Hopefully when they spay they do some kind of 'clean up' and vaccinations as part of the deal. That would be nice. RE: Meet Mikki! - twisteroo - 08-18-2010 It's not from ear mites, is it? Black coffee ground kinda looking shit? Those ear mites will give them the flop ear if it gets bad enough. Also that revolution stuff is supposed to take care of ear mites along with fleas, worms, rectal itch, crotch rot, jock itch, runny nose, flu, and the common cold. RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-18-2010 Not mites. I know what that crap looks like. She'd have it in both ears if it were. Olive oil takes care of mites better than any chemical. This is like jellied sloughing skin. Really weird. RE: Meet Mikki! - kbear - 08-18-2010 "Ewww" poor kitty!!!!! Is she happy to be at her new house??? RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 08-18-2010 She's thrilled to bits, Kim. RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 09-10-2010 Well, would you believe this cat is a picky eater? I have NEVER seen a starving, worm infested, flea bitten stray turn down any brand, flavor or even people food! She's one picky cat. I just bought two cases of 9 Lives instead of the Friskies and she's been turning her nose up at it. EVERY flavor. Friggin' flavors are the same ones as the Friskies but she don't like this brand. OH and I won't be buying it again anyway, it's a waste of money. It's mostly liquid in the can and not enough meat. What crap. RE: Meet Mikki! - twisteroo - 09-10-2010 Julie will eat only supersupper. But she does love some Special Kitty dry food. RE: Meet Mikki! - Twitchin Kitten - 09-10-2010 Yeah but Mikki's a 'scrounge cat'. WTF is she doing being picky? |
