i just sold my late Uncle's house there in Cocoa Beach Beach . and have been to many shuttle launches. NASA/Kennedy Space Center is open to public, and a great educational place to visit. (i still call it Cape Canaveral too. Smile ) that view is Merritt island, it's a wildlife sanctuary as well as home to the Space Center. so you see alligators laying by the side of the road, the prehistoric in view of the futuristic. very cool.

I lived on Patrick AFB, Satellite Beach, and Melbourne, for about 6 years in the 80's...I used to know the area pretty well.
