I don't understand the "living thing" part. ALL plant life is alive at some point. Vegetarians confuse me. If they are eating only veggies because they don't like eating things that were once alive, they are hypocrites. Whether it's sentient or not, alive is alive.

Fungi is in the animal section (animal/vegetable/mineral) the spores come under bacteria but it isn't, if you see what I mean?
