RE: How much is milk in your area? - BarEdul - 03-17-2012 Commodities are on their way up again. Willl we see $5.00 for a loaf of bread here in Pa by next June. If you pay full price for Holsum King Bread In Sch. County now you pay $3.19. What will you be paying for Milk next JUNE? RE: How much is milk in your area? - Rhubarb - 03-17-2012 When we arrived on honeymoon at my father-in-laws cottage, we were reminded when we went down to the farm to fetch milk straight from the coolers to flick the switch to paddle the milk first. The farm had Guernsey cows so the cooler held virtually half cream and the liquid we wanted was at the bottom. It's the creamiest milk from any breed. My brother-in-law followed us 6 weeks later on his honeymoon and they forgot the message. The farmer was cross because the indentation from the ladle was still in the cream after they helped themselves! Loved going to the cottage.. so sad when it was sold RE: How much is milk in your area? - twisteroo - 03-17-2012 Actually I buy my milk from Aldi or Wal-mart just like everyone else. It must just be cheaper around here. Well maybe yours isn't ![]() Lidl do use local farmers after a public 'kick-off' for fresh produce. RE: How much is milk in your area? - Twitchin Kitten - 03-18-2012 we just paid $2.39 for half a gallon of milk in NJ. ![]() RE: How much is milk in your area? - twisteroo - 03-18-2012 My machine at work pumps 50,000 pounds of milk an hour thru it. According to some google crap a gallon of milk weighs like 8.5 pounds, so 50,000 per hour would be.......uh, like alot. (sp) RE: How much is milk in your area? - Rhubarb - 03-19-2012 Tell my sister-in-law in Oz, please. She would travel miles to get non-pasteurized and sign a book to say she was using it for cosmetic uses. I was so cross with her for risking her kids health and told Mark to 'sort her out' after all as her eldest son quickly noticed 'Mother' listened to her big brother. Recently found she is still buying it. *He phoned us on more than one occasion late at night (often our Sunday, their Monday morning) to ask Uncle Mark to talk to Mummy about one thing or another, why he shouldn't go to school/wear shoes/take the Siamese fighting fish for show and tell and so on. |
