RE: Separation of church and state - Twilla - 01-27-2012 Polls mean nothing, it's our representatives that we vote into office that are supposed to represent our opinions and desires that make these shit decisions. Did I mention "represent"? Because that's the big problem right now, they don't represent us, they follow the dollar. The American voter means nothing, it's the big corporations that run this country. RE: Separation of church and state - Twitchin Kitten - 01-27-2012 You're right. What cracks me up is that the "left" bitch about the "right's" fondness for big money but if you look around, they're just as guilty of the same 'crime'. Another problem is that not enough people in their representative's districts will bother making a phone call or writing a letter to express to the rep they've not been doing what they were elected to do. So, this gives them the impression they are doing what "we" want. RE: Separation of church and state - LKTraz - 01-28-2012 People make the mistake of thinking that the US is a democratic government. It is in fact a representative republic with democratically held elections. The big problem is that our representatives no longer represent the people who elected them. |
