I havent bought off the roll, but I have bought a couple rugs.

Putting it down sucks, but you just put a dresser or something over the fucked up spot that you cut and it's all good.

RE: Liars! - Jamminitin - 10-14-2010

So, it just comes in lengths and you just throw it down and put a dresser on it? So to speak.

RE: Liars! - twisteroo - 10-14-2010

Pretty much, just cut it to fit the room and let it lay. Cutting it to fit sounds easy, but is a pain right in the ass.

RE: Liars! - Jamminitin - 10-14-2010

No actually, it doesnt sound easy. I know what a bitch carpet is to cut.

Pretty much anything around the house is a bitch. I can cut a panel or something, dry fit it and it's perfect. Then get the glue on it and try to place it and it's fucked.

That's the problem, I don't want wall to wall. I want a round area rug. First thing I did was tear out the wall to wall when I moved in here. You should have seen the hell that was underneath! Now I got gorgeous honey oak floors with a satin finish. Very nice.

We are going to get some indoor/outdoor off the roll stuff for the 'new' computer room because the oak floor is damaged and I just don't feel like sanding and refinishing that shit again. THAT was one hard job doing the living room and hallway!

I'm about to cut the carpet around the base of the waterbed in the bedroom I'm so sick of it. It's the last piece of ugly, thousand year old carpet left from the original owners. I hear that carpet was in here since the mid '60's! The only thing stopping me is what horror I may/will find under it and make more work for us. Let's get that computer room finished first.

About 90% of my floors are planks, I have nothing to lose by covering them.

RE: Liars! - Twitchin Kitten - 10-15-2010

Are they the nice wide pumpkin board planks you see in really old homes? If they are, man don't cover them!
