News: Casey is going to stay at the hospital for two more weeks... Sad
Good thing: she's eating, peeing and pooping normally...
*sigh*

Aww, at least she's in good hands at the vet. Why so long?

RE: Casey's mastectomy - obycencio - 09-28-2010

They explained to me that the skin is so tight that most likely it will not stay stitched. So, if she's moving around it would be worse. That plus the open wound at her chest still not healed... And she's with painkillers all the time.
So definitely my place is not the best for her to be at... Sad

Oh that tight skin is the bigger issue than the open wound too. You have no idea what a mess that could be if they opened up! We had a dog (as kids) who opened her stitches after getting spayed. What a mess! Mom gathered up all her innards and carried her to the vet. She went on to live another 10 years to the ripe old age of 19.

Oh that sounds terrible! I was with Casey at the hospital when a rottie arrived and it was just as you described! She's ok now, but still at the hospital...
Good thing with Casey is that they didn't tear apart the muscles!

It seems that Casey is coming home today!!! Biggrin She'll need to go to the vets every 2 days, but at least she'll sleep at home now!

Great news, Glo! She'll be very happy to sleep home. Give her some love for me Smile

Thanks!! Biggrin
Yesterday she was tired, very hungry and happy to be home! For some reason kitties didn't like her very much... Sad It seems her scent is different because they smell her and wriggle their little noses, hehe.
I can tell she smells weird but vet said it was because her wounds were healing and that causes a funny odor...
She's enjoying the extra attention tough, hehe Smile
