Still hit the playlist at the waning stage of disco as did a few other tunes on the cusp. Sooooooo if ya wanna split hairs between disco and early new age dance then so be it.

The difference between the two was the presence or absence of powder blue double knit leisure suits! :p

New wave...maybe.
What the hell was glamrock then?

This was new wave...right?

Anything from the UK in the 80's that wasn't punk or disco was New Wave. Yeah, Oingo Boingo was New Wave.

Loved that movie though! Back To School with Rodney Dangerfield. That movie was rife with New Wave music. LOL and get a load of Robert Downey jr.'s hair! Rofl

I learned a year of two ago that Danny Elfman was in oingo boing. Danny Elfman composes like every damn piece of music on TV. I'm sure you see his name all the time on everything from the Simpsons to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory .

Yeah. Same for Brian May of Queen and one of the Doors.... I forget which one.

Mark Mothersbaugh as well. (DEVO) He wrote all the incidental music for Rugrats and the other Gabor-Csupo produced toons as well as over 1,000 ad jingles/background music!

Oh yeah, you see Mothersbaugh's name EVERYWHERE! Matt never noticed till I pointed that out to him a short while ago.
