What the hell is this thing? #5 - twisteroo - 03-03-2013 WHAT?!?!? RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - Twitchin Kitten - 03-03-2013 That's a screwdriver missing it's handle. It's an old one and probably had a wooden handle unlike today's models that are plastic and you see only a slight wing on the metal holding it in. Keeps it from slipping when you turn tight screws. RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - LKTraz - 03-04-2013 I agree with Twitch You can see the slightly smoothed part near the base of the tang where the retaining ring would have slipped over the split end of the wooden handle to tighten it. RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - twisteroo - 03-04-2013 Not a screwdriver. What you guys think would be the handle is actually the working end. Here's a closer look at the working end. RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - Rhubarb - 03-04-2013 I'm guessing it's metal? In which case used in cleaning threads on industrial brushes- RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - twisteroo - 03-04-2013 It would appear to be metal. It's not for cleaning threads on industrial brushes. RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - Twitchin Kitten - 03-04-2013 Does it have something to do with zippers? RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - Twitchin Kitten - 03-04-2013 You know, I might have one of these in my grandfather's toolbox in the basement. He has a mess of weird stuff in there. I'll have to look in the morning when I have more light. RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - twisteroo - 03-04-2013 It has nothing to do with zippers. It is a tap, for cutting threads to insert a threaded bolt into. RE: What the hell is this thing? #5 - Twitchin Kitten - 03-04-2013 Damn you're impatient |
