I am betting 1 US dollar that it was Jilly that voted no on the ranking system.
Lemme 'splain a bit more to whomever it was that voted no.
This is not a ranking system for any kind of status on the board. Moderators are not in this system as they are in their own groups.
This moves you to a new level of what you can see and saves the moderators I've assigned to watching for new members the job of having to move and watch new members.
So If someone joins and never posts, all they'll see is the intro forum and not be able to log on and lurk and read. I see MANY non posting members logging on and lurking for hours and never even having the decency to say hello.
OK so once they join and say hello, the move up to be able to see the board. Once they post MORE and are PART OF OUR COMMUNITY like the regulars here, then they can see other sections that only the Cool Cats can see (and mods).
This system saves time for admin (me) and mods who move members. So by members posting, the software does the job for them. We get to hang out and play with less work.
This ranking system has NOTHING to do with any kind of status or popularity. It does not favor any member group over another. It's simply an automated moderator.
