I've heard about these cookies of yours and 'Green Bean Cassarole'. My aunt in WV was moaning about them in an email yesterday.
She misses English Christmas cakes, marzipaned fruit cake and Dundee cake.

We love marzipan! :D Stollen is my favourite. We go into the nearby German supermarket and pick up a case (6) the minute it arrives.

ahh green bean casserole?Thats a CLASSIC!!!

Original Durkee Green Bean Casserole ingredients  
2 can (16 oz.) cut green beans drained  
3/4 cup Milk  
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup  
1/8 tsp. Black pepper  
1 can (2.8 oz.) Durkee French Fried onions

Cooking Original Durkee Green Bean Casserole 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In medium bowl, combine beans, milk, soup, pepper and 1/2 can onions.
3. Pour into 1 1/2 quart casserole.
4. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until heated through.
5. Top with remaining onions; bake uncovered 5 minutes or until onions are golden brown.some people add soy sauce but thats basically it ;)
