Fantasy trilogy thats a bit different, definitely not a lord of the rings ripoff like I thought it was going to be.

Not very often do you see magic and alchemy side by side with gunpowder, and the main character has something akin to a vampiric dragon's soul in him.

More of a Eastern Europe / Russian setting, but with less vodka. Places are described well enough for you to get a good feeling of what they look like.

Some of the character development is as good as it could be, but the plot is good with out being very twisty.
At least in the first book it isn't, haven't read the other 2 yet.

It's a bit long, but it reads easy and is entertaining, easy for the brain to digest as well so that makes it a good book to read a few chapters before bed or when you need to take a break from work.

Best part, there cheap.

Clicked the first link and read the synopsis. Nice!
What's really nice is she uses names that are easily pronounceable. I hate fantasy books where they use really weird names for things, places and people you can't sound out and pronounce easily. Makes reading the thing no fun at all.

I'll keep this set on my list of books for summer reading. Got three I need to finish up first.
